Free Vst Volume Control

With only two control parameters (input gain and output volume) to worry about, DC1A is the perfect compressor VST plugin for beginner music producers. That said, advanced mixing engineers can also take advantage of the plugin’s blazing-fast workflow and excellent compression characteristics. Insert a fader VST in front of the compressor and add an automation envelope to control the gain plugin's gain. Now you can get all the clips in the same ballpark before they hit the compressor, which will then be much easier to dial in. The same principle holds true for any track where you use a volume envelope to tame certain hits or phrases. The Ozone Imager is an essential free VST plugin for trap beats. As the name suggests, this is an imaging tool you use to control your track's stereo width. To make a professional sounding track, you must control your stereo width. Commonly, your low frequencies are narrow, in mono, while you typically place your higher frequencies wide.

Gain automation plugin

This roundup of free VST plugins features a volume shaper, a modern synth, a compressor with some style, a fully-loaded sampler, and a monitoring utility.

The HoRNet AutoGain has been designed with a specific purpose in mind: drastically shorten the time it takes to create gain automation curves.

When finishing a mix usually you have some tracks that need some volume adjustment here an there, you could adjust individual clip gain or start writing volume automation, but this is a long and boring task…

Here it comes the HoRNet AutoGain to the rescue.
It has two different inputs, in the main one put the track you want to automate, in the second one your volume reference, it may be a single track, a track group or the whole mix, press play and let the HoRNet AutoGain work its magic. It will try to keep your track level to the same of your reference creating the needed gain automation, you can adjust speed, sensitivity and gain range.

Try it on a vocal track and when you are done put it into “write mode” to have the gain automation written for you! Have a look to the video example!

Testimonials and Reviews

for the price this plug-in provides more than enough functionality and quality for a project/demo studio. With its appealing price tag and simple user interface, the Pro Audio Web Blog gives the HoRNet Auto Gain a 4 out of 5 stars

AutoGain’s main purpose is leveling vocals and lead lines, which it does nicely. A sidechain monitor button might be useful, but this is a bargain-priced winner – it makes you wonder why this sort of thing isn’t built into DAWs as standard. 9/10

Demo limitation

Free Vst Volume Controller

The demo is fully functional except for the fact that every now and then it will silence out, you cannot save parameter values with your session and the plugin will not respond to automation coming from the host.

VolumeShaper is a comprehensive plugin, part of the ShaperBox suite, that enables you to tweak the levels of audio signals to the very detail. Providing a visual approach to volume, the VST extension can help you obtain numerous creative musical effects, ranging from the tempo-synced stutter and multiband sidechain compression to precise sample-shaping and extreme gating.

The plugin can be used for a wide array of productions, including to create an accurate volume curve for synth or drum sounds. According to the developer, you can set it to trigger the newly created sound when a specific MIDI key is reached. In fact, you can come up with different curves for bass, mids and highs, regulate levels for snare, hi-hat, or anything else with just a few clicks.

Moreover, you can shape different frequency ranges independently, create stutter and tremolo effects or limit the modulation to specific frequencies that are introduced to any point of the timeline.

Considering that it is part of a suite, it goes without saying that you can use it on its own. On the other hand, if you are aiming to come up with an elaborate, multilayered effect for your mixes or audio samples, then perhaps you can consider checking out the other shapers provided by the developer.
